Diamond Compound Paste

Monocrystalline Diamond Compound

  1. Metallurgical Grade, Oil Soluble

  2. Heavy Concentration, Oil Soluble

Metallurgical Supplies Monocrystalline Diamond Compound are Oil Base, diamond compounds are specifically formulated for metallographic sample preparation for materials that are water-sensitive and offer a higher concentration of diamond compared with suspensions. They are formulated for ease of use in lapping and polishing systems where fast removal rates with high surface finishes are required. They are Oil Base, so no harsh chemicals are needed for clean-up and compatible with glycol, water or alcohol based lubricants. Diamond compounds are typically used as a stand-alone product or as a -inchbase-inch before applying diamond suspension to polishing cloths.

Polycrystalline Diamond Compound

  • Metallurgical Grade, Water Soluble

  • Heavy Concentration, Water Soluble

Metallurgical Supplies Polycrystalline Diamond Compound are Water Based, diamond compounds are specifically formulated for metallographic sample preparation and offer a higher concentration of diamond compared with suspensions.

Polycrystalline diamond is best suited for lapping and polishing of both extremely hard and soft materials. Thanks to its unique characteristics, maximum material removal rates and superior surface quality are achieved. Polycrystalline diamond particles are ultra rough with three times the surface area of Monocrystalline particles.

Using Polycrystalline diamond paste – compound have advantages such as:

Ultra Fast Cutting:

  • More cutting edges
  • Faster stock removal rate
  • Fewer polishing steps

Finest Surface Finishes are reached Polycrystalline diamond particles abrade a work piece uniformly regardless of orientation. They produce none of the random scratches and micro cracking sometimes caused by monocrystalline particles.

  • Smoother finishes
  • Fewer random scratches
  • Less subsurface damage

Fewer Polishing Operations:

Polycrystalline particles are tough and equally strong in all directions. This permits the use of higher unit pressures for lapping and polishing, often reducing the number of steps required.
