WHAT IS DIAMOND LAPPING FILM
Lapping film is made by coating a uniform polyester film backing with precision graded abrasives. Resin bonding is water proof and impervious to most oils and solvents. Resin options can be tailored to your specific application. Lapping films are available with or without a PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) back. Applications for lapping films include polishing fiber optics, light guides, laser deliver fiber, semiconductor dies, optical components, ceramic components, computer read-write heads, lapidary, gemstones, glass, medical devices, sample preparation for SEM and TEM analysis, blade and tool sharpening, cam and crankshaft finishing, roll finishing, flat grinding, flat polishing, hobby work, art work and many others. Lapping film can be used on most materials that require a super-fine, super-consistent finish.
Diamond Lapping Film. Available in grades 0.1, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 3, 6, 9, 15, 30, 45, and 60 microns. Used for grinding and polishing the hardest materials. Ideal for polishing fiber optics, ceramics, gem stones, carbides, encapsulated and un-encapsulated SEM and TEM samples, and composite materials where an extremely flat surface is required.
